DIRECT FLIGHT TO BE LAUNCHED BETWEEN BUDAPEST AND KUWAIT CITY

A direct flight is to be launched between Budapest and Kuwait City, courtesy of Jazeera Airways. The memorandum of understanding on this was signed in January between the airline and Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, and the flights will operate from June to September 2025. Kuwait City, which is the seventh Middle Eastern destination with direct flights from Budapest, offers excellent connections to India and the South Asian region.

Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, Jazeera Airways, will launch a direct service between Budapest and the Kuwaiti capital in the summer of 2025, operating twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, between 5 June and 25 September. The new connection will primarily benefit those who are keen to explore India and the South Asian region, and is expected to play a major role in boosting tourism to Hungary, thanks to the connectivity opportunities. Kuwait is the seventh Middle Eastern destination with direct flights from Budapest, along with Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Israel, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Francois Berisot, the CEO of Budapest Airport, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jazeera Airways to Hungary, a brand new airline joining the Budapest network. I am confident that the transfer options they offer will provide many Hungarian passengers with a long-awaited opportunity to explore India, for example, while also benefiting business travellers. Moreover, the new flight will open up new horizons for the two countries not only in tourism, but also in terms of trade and the economy.”

The twice weekly flight is the first scheduled, direct aerial connection between Hungary and Kuwait, and will not only open up a range of excellent connections for Hungarian passengers, but will also provide a great opportunity for tourists from Kuwait and those arriving through the country to discover Hungary’s cultural values, rich history and spa culture. Visit Hungary supported Budapest Airport in launching the flight.
